At 60 years old, Bezos, the mastermind behind Amazon, has once again ascended to the top, surpassing his rival Musk in terms of net worth. While Bezos’ fortune stands at a staggering $200 billion, Musk’s net worth rests at $198 billion, according to Bloomberg.
The battle for supremacy between these visionary entrepreneurs has been closely tied to the fortunes of their flagship companies – Amazon and Tesla.
Amazon’s meteoric rise in the stock market, with shares soaring by an impressive 18 percent this year alone, has propelled Bezos ahead of Musk. The e-commerce behemoth now commands a valuation exceeding $1.8 trillion.
In contrast, Tesla faced some severe turbulence in 2024, with its share price plummeting by 24 percent. A further blow was dealt to Tesla as its stock tumbled by 7 percent following the announcement of price cuts in China in a bid to stimulate demand. Consequently, Bezos gained a staggering $23 billion, while Musk saw a loss of approximately $31 billion, according to Bloomberg.
