One of California’s most respected academic institutions, the University of Berkeley, will be introducing its first-ever course on Nicki Minaj – and honestly, we’re itching to be a part of it.
The course, titled “Nicki Minaj: The Black Barbie Femmcee & Hip Hop Feminisms”, will cover the artist’s evolution as a creative music entrepreneur and will prompt students to digest her impact on the hip-hop industry and how it connects to the “broader historical-social structures and hip-hop feminisms,” the course professor tweeted.
A successful female rapper in an industry dominated by men (only until very recently), the ‘Anaconda’ rapper is known to be very driven and level-headed, too. In response to the news, Minaj commented on the tweet herself, saying that she would “love to stop by”.
Whilst the course will most probably last a full semester; the final details are yet to be shared. Stay tuned!
