See which films dominated the 2020 BAFTA Awards

Check out the winners
The World War I epic '1917' won big at the BAFTA Awards...

The BAFTA Awards took place in London’s Royal Albert Hall overnight and whilst we already had an idea of what to expect after the nominations were revealed last month, there were no major upsets or surprise winners. Unarguably dominating the evening was World War I story 1917 with several wins including best film, best director for Sam Mendes and outstanding British film.

Topping the nominations with a total of 11 nods was Todd Phillips’ Joker, followed by Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and The Irishman snagging 10 nominations, respectively.

Winning best documentary was For Sama. The Syrian documentary tells the true story of co-director Waad Al Kateab’s life in Aleppo during the war. It’s both an intimate story and adventurous journey that steps inside the mind and experience of a woman during the war.
