Emirates Airline Festival of Literature

Back for its 12th edition, the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature 2020 is destined to bring together authors and literary fans from all over the world in celebration of the written and spoken word. Considered to be the region’s largest celebration of the written and spoken word, you’ll be able to attend workshops, one-of-a-kind experiences and informative sessions, along with have meet-and-greet opportunities with a variety of authors, reporters, explorers and other personalities including HE Jamal bin Huwaireb, Managing Director of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation, Sir Chris Bonington, an explorer who summited Mt. Everest, and Hazzaa Al Mansoori, the first Emirati to travel to space.

RedFest DXB

Perhaps some of the world’s biggest names are jetting to the UAE this month for another edition of Virgin Radio’s RedFest DXB event. The music industry’s heavyweights including Stormzy, Bastille, Noah Cyrus, Martin Garrix, Cheat Codes, Machine Gun Kelly and Becky Hill are set to take the stage for back-to-back concerts. Along with the global music charts, there will be a selection of delicious food and an overall vibrant atmosphere.

Maluma live in concert

If you’re a fan of Latin music, this one’s for you. Colombian superstar Maluma is making a stop in Dubai for his global tour, 11:11. The Grammy award-winning artist is perhaps one of the most popular hitmakers from Latin America in recent years and with previous collaborations with Shakira, Ricky Martin and Thalia, we’re bound to be in for some reggaeton-inspired hits. Plus, this will mark Maluma’s debut appearance in Dubai so you know he’s going to come out with a bang.

Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships

The annual Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships are back with a stellar round-up of world-class players that are expected to wow the crowds this February. The sporting event has previously seen the likes of tennis pros Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Venus Williams take to the courts and this year, it’s no set to be different. The two-week long championship is just as much of a spectacle on and off the court and for 2020, it will consist of a WTA Premier 5 women’s event followed by the ATP 500 men’s competition.

XYoga

Find your zen this month as XYoga, one of the region’s largest wellness events, returns to Dubai’s Kite Beach. The two-day festival will see a schedule of yoga sessions, activities, classes and workshops led by expert yogis. You’ll be able to learn quality meditation and spiritual discipline, as well as try out some health-focused foods.

Emirates Airline Dubai Jazz Festival

Gear up for a weekend filled with some of the world’s most popular musicians taking the stage at the Emirates Airline Dubai Jazz Festival. Both prominent figures in the music industry, Lionel Richie and Lauryn Hill have been announced as headliners, and with chart topping hits over a musical career spanning over 25 years, expects to hear chart-topping songs including Hill’s ‘Killing Me Softly’, ‘Doo-Wop (That Thing)’, and ‘Fu-Gee-La’, as well as Richie’s all time classics ‘Hello’, ‘Endless Love’ and ‘All Night Long’. Also as part of the line-up, American pop rock band OneRepublic will be headlining day three of the Dubai Jazz Festival.

See The Kite Runner at Dubai Opera

The stage adaptation of the classic novel, The Kite Runner, is coming to Dubai Opera this month. The heart-wrenching tale is based on Khaled Hosseini’s best-selling novel and for the captivating production at Dubai Opera, you’ll want to get your seats for this one, stat. The story is about Amir, and it follows his friendship with Hassan, as they come of age in Afghanistan and experience events that eventually break their friendship apart.
