When the COVID-19 outbreak first began, many were left to wonder what the #newnormal would consist of. With new terms popping up on our radars such as ‘social distancing’, how we face the challenges and move forward determines the strength and power of humanity.
With that being said, we all want to go back to how things were — the ability to hop on a plane and head to our desired destinations, watch a new movie on the big screen, visit exhibitions and even, hugging our family and friends. So, several companies across the globe are putting in the efforts to make our #newnormal a reality.
Art Basel Hong Kong refused to cancel its fair and instead, shifted it online. Now, it looks like Dubai’s hub of culture, art and design — Alserkal Avenue — is following suit and launched a digital platform for their audience to experience.
Alserkal.online is launching tonight and you’ll be able to discover art exhibitions, meet the artists, minds, and makers from the Alserkal Avenue community, as well as learn something new, or simply browse for inspiring content — which we all need at a time like this.
The way it works is there will be 360-views of each space, accompanied by a video from the gallerist, as well information about the artist, and links to more information on Artsy, with whom we have partnered for Alserkal Art Week Online.
The new platform will officially launch today at 7pm (local time).
Now, these are the top 15 rom-coms to add to your quarantine watchlist — because we all need a little laughter and love.
