It’s safe to say that in the past two years, celebrities launching their own beauty brands have become the norm following Kylie Jenner’s Kylie Cosmetics line, Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty, Lady Gaga’s Haus Laboratories and towards the end of 2019, Selena Gomez was the latest celebrity to announce the launch of her own beauty brand, Rare Beauty.
Whilst little was released about what to expect from the celebrity’s new line, the first details from the upcoming beauty brand have landed.
“I wanted to start a conversation about how you can make yourself feel great. It’s not necessarily about needing these things to make yourself feel beautiful,” said Gomez to comedian Amy Schumer. According to Interview magazine, the singer-actress-producer said: “People of my generation have all this pressure to look a certain way, and I wanted to make a line that took away a bit of that pressure. I use real people in the campaigns.”
With that being said, the first collection is set to be inclusive and diverse with a debut range of a whopping 48 shades of foundation and concealer. “It’s all very clean and easy. I wanted people to feel safe”, Gomez continued.
