Everybody, meet Amandla Stenberg — the newest face to join the Fenty Beauty family. The activist and actress has become the brand’s first-ever celebrity ambassador (well, apart from Rihanna, of course) and is set to appear in campaign imagery for the coming year as a so-called Fenty Face.
It’s no surprise that Amandla was hand-picked by Riri herself for the role. Since Fenty Beauty’s launch nearly two years ago, it has ultimately become the beauty brand. Why so? Not just because of its rich formulas and saturated pigments but for its dedication to inclusivity. And that is something Amandla is internationally recognised for, aside from her acting career.
In 2018, Time Magazine named the star as one of the Next Generation Leaders since she has been actively using her platform to start conversations about cultural appropriation, intersectional feminism, gender performance, identity and overall, the standards of beauty.
Sharing her excitement via Instagram, Amandla said: “I wanted to become a part of the Fenty Family because it’s one of the few beauty brands that make me feel like myself! Fenty Beauty’s whole ethos makes me feel empowered and excited to let different facets of myself shine.”
