Every year, the British Fashion Council presents the Fashion Awards to honor the creative brilliance within the industry. The Fashion Awards 2023 will take place on December 4 at the Royal Albert Hall, London. As always, the Fashion Awards 2023 will unite a global creative community in London to celebrate both established and emerging talents in the fashion world. The annual event also serves as the primary fundraiser for the BFC Foundation, which backs the future of British fashion by focusing on education, grants, and business mentorship.
Earlier this month, the British Fashion Council took to Instagram to reveal the contenders for the ‘Model of the Year’ award. Among those nominated were Alton Mason, Anok Yai, Kai-Isaiah Jamal, Liu Wen, Mona Tougaard, and Paloma Elsesser. Yesterday, the British Fashion Council announced the nominees for the coveted ‘Designer of the Year’ title, putting Daniel Lee for Burberry, Jonathan Anderson for JW Anderson and LOEWE, Matthieu Blazy for Bottega Veneta, Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons for Prada, and Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen in competition with one another. Additionally, the nominees for the BFC Foundation award–conferred upon an emerging designer–were also released. The new-gen designers contending under this category include AARON ESH, Chet Lo, Connor Ives, Paolo Carzana, and Sinéad O’Dwyer.
With the stage set and expectations high, the Fashion Awards 2023 promises to be a night of inspiration, recognition, and a glimpse into the future of fashion.
