Celebrated chef, author and TV personality Anthony Bourdain has passed away at age 61. According to multiple reports, he was found unresponsive in his hotel room in Paris earlier this evening.
One of the world’s most renowned and respect food authorities, Bourdain began his career as a chef before moving into TV roles. His most recent was for CNN’s Parts Unknown, for which he was in Paris to film the latest episode.
In a statement the network said, “It is with extraordinary sadness we can confirm the death of our friend and colleague, Anthony Bourdain. His love of great adventure, new friends, fine food and drink and the remarkable stories of the world made him a unique storyteller. His talents never ceased to amaze us and we will miss him very much. Our thoughts and prayers are with his daughter and family at this incredibly difficult time.”
Anthony is survived by his daughter Ariane, 13.
The news comes just days after fashion designer Kate Spade passed away.
