THE SHOW, AND WHAT A SHOW!
The collection took center stage with a live spectacle, as models gracefully navigated curated paths through the historic riding hall of Amsterdam’s Levend Paarden Museum—renowned for its dazzling carousel performances. Maison Rami Kadi selected this venue not only for its rich history of equestrian arts but also for its advocacy of cruelty-free practices and a harmonious bond with horses.
In a show-stopping moment, models made a grand entrance astride majestic horses, encircling the centerpiece model adorned in the collection’s masterpiece. This gown shimmered in regal gold, featuring an elegant peplum waist and a skirt adorned with intricate golden braids and horseshoe motifs, blending bold modernity with timeless allure.
THE COLLECTION: AN INSPIRATION DRAWN FROM THE MAJESTIC ALLURE OF HORSES.
Named after the Arabic term ‘Meydan’ for public squares where horse shows and communal gatherings traditionally unfold, this collection pays homage to these cultural spaces. Embodying the collection’s equestrian essence are horseshoe prints, lavish tassels, and intricate details like rope, braids, knots, and macramé in the embroidery. The fabrics—velvet, lace, leather, suede, silk, and organza—blend creatively to enrich the luxurious equine theme. Embossed embroidery and three-dimensional floral designs animate each piece, while laser cutting, engraving, and perforations, paired with fringes and metallic gold accents, heighten its opulence.
Complementing the apparel, Maison Rami Kadi unveils accessories echoing the iconic horseshoe motif. Bold chokers, oversized earrings, and statement rings capture the collection’s spirit of equestrian grace. Set against the evocative backdrop of Amsterdam’s Levend Paarden Museum, particularly the historic Horsewomen’s Room honoring female riders, this unveiling brings to life an earthy palette of browns, olive greens, Bordeaux, beiges, and dusty pinks. Each detail resonates with the rich heritage and contemporary elegance woven into every creation.
“Horses have also long been revered for their spirit of freedom, their commanding presence, and their unrestrained potential,” explains Rami Kadi. “The horse is undoubtedly one of the most stunning creatures on Earth, embodying raw, unbridled beauty. It has been the topic of some of the most epic Arabic poems. I don’t think there’s a civilization that wasn’t fascinated by the powerful, immortal energy that this creature emits.”
