#BUROLOVES: EXPLORING PRADA’S EXHIBITION IN SHANGHAI UNVEILING THE BRAND’S RICH HISTORY AND CULTURE.

'Pradasphere II' from December 7, 2023 to January 21, 2024.
Today, Prada unveils Pradasphere II, a public exhibition that delves into the brand's history and culture, spanning from its inception in 1913 to the contemporary era. The exhibition opens its doors at the Start Museum in Shanghai, China.

Crafted under the curation of co-creative directors Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, this exhibition unfolds as a narrative journey, rich and intimately woven. Featuring over 400 artifacts, spanning the worlds of physical and digital, the exhibition draws from the extensive fashion archive and decades-long collaborations in art, architecture, culture, and sport. Following the success of its inaugural edition in 2014, this exhibition charts the groundbreaking trajectory of Prada, delving into the enduring influence of its vision on luxury, beauty, and fashion as a profound intellectual brand.

Transformed into a sumptuous ‘magazzino’, an Italian term for a warehouse, Pradasphere II serves as a cross-section of the multifaceted Prada universe. In collaboration with 2×4, the design studio based in New York City and Beijing, the exhibition skillfully contrasts the raw and refined, constructing industrial warehouse shelving lined with luxurious pink silk velvet. Together, this immersive experience presents a unique perspective on luxury—where fashion converges with life, embracing history, art, sport, architecture, and sound.

Pradasphere II offers a profound and diverse journey, capturing the essence of Prada through accumulation, close observation, and warm hospitality. Various elements explore deep craftsmanship and skilled artistry, while others unveil the aesthetic contradictions that define the brand. The exhibition also sheds light on Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons’s ongoing pursuit of challenging traditional notions of luxury. Providing fresh insights into 110 years of history, this exhibition grants unparalleled, firsthand access to Prada’s past, present, and future.
