Think dramatic silhouettes, layered textures, and a bold dance between structure and fluidity. Crisp tailoring meets cascading drapery, while monochrome hues are softened with serene blues and warm neutrals.
This collection is a masterclass in duality, blending evening gowns, sharp jackets, and versatile separates. Luxurious taffeta and airy tulle create tension and harmony, while the brand’s signature wavy smocking takes on fresh, reinvented forms. Standout pieces? The ‘Shadow’ gown, an ethereal couture masterpiece with a handcrafted bubble effect, and ‘Shift,’ a one-shoulder stunner adorned with an intricately beaded strap. It’s elegance with an edge—just how Yassmin Saleh does it best.
“ANTIPODE” IS ALL ABOUT DUALITIES—WHAT’S THE MOST UNEXPECTED CONTRAST YOU PLAYED WITH IN THIS COLLECTION, AND HOW DID YOU BRING IT TO LIFE?
It was the contrast between fluidity and structure—how rigid forms can feel organic, and softness can hold strength. We created geometric, shell-like fabric manipulations from fluid silhouettes, much like the sea shaping stones. Our color palette also resonated with this duality, balancing light and shadow, delicacy and power.
YOUR DESIGNS OFTEN TELL A DEEPER STORY. IF “ANTIPODE” WERE A PERSONALITY, HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE IT IN THREE WORDS?
Transformative, balanced, resilient.
WHAT WAS THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE IN TRANSLATING THESE OPPOSING FORCES—CHAOS AND CALM, DESTRUCTION AND REBIRTH—INTO WEARABLE ART?
The toughest part was sticking to a design framework. To truly capture opposites, I set up a grid-like system, which meant I could only create the direct opposite of each look.
LEBANESE CRAFTSMANSHIP IS AT THE HEART OF YOUR BRAND. HOW DID YOU INCORPORATE ARTISANAL TECHNIQUES INTO THIS COLLECTION WHILE KEEPING IT FRESH AND MODERN?
Through our brand, we aim to explore innovative craftsmanship techniques that translate the intangible. Rather than focusing on traditional beaded embellishments, we opted for subtle yet intricate smocking details, hand-picking and hand-drilling pebbles from the beaches, turning them into trims, and creating a ruching technique inspired by the lines of seashells. It was exciting to explore new techniques.
IF “ANTIPODE” HAD A SOUNDTRACK, WHAT SONG OR GENRE WOULD BEST REPRESENT ITS ENERGY?
“Walking Into Sunshine” by Central Line.
FASHION IS DEEPLY PERSONAL—DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE PIECE FROM THE COLLECTION THAT FEELS MOST LIKE “YOU,” AND WHY?
I think I’d go for the “AXIS” jacket. I like the crisp, structured cut but also the fact that it’s so lightweight. The handpicked stones turned into buttons from the beaches of Lebanon make me feel like I carry a piece of Lebanon wherever I go.
