Louis Vuitton have us all set for luxe travel these days. Between their new wireless earphones and super cute monogrammed lipstick cases, we’ll be moving around the world, fuss-free, just the way we want.
And it’s not like Louis Vuitton aren’t already on the travel pulse. Their luxury keep-sake guide books which span cities far and far, including Rome, Chicago, Bangkok and Prague take you from one chic spot to another.
Now, the French fashion house are blending art and travel by tapping two global, contemporary artists who have produced limited edition illustrated travel books for Los Angeles and Seoul.
According to The Fashion Network, Spanish artist Javier Mariscal took on Los Angeles and painted his interpretation of the city of angels, while French design duo Icinori illustrated Seoul for the leather-bound books in the Louis Vuitton Travel Book series. Interestingly, Louis Vuitton enlisted artists unfamiliar with their respective destinations, which was a deliberate strategy aimed to bring a fresh viewpoint of the cities, their architecture, light, and locals.
Only 30 copies have been printed for each title which contain 100 to 120 original drawings. Each book has been numbered and signed by the artist. The books are bound in leather, printed on Freelife Vellum paper and come in a protective slipcase.
The copies will be sold in select Louis Vuitton stores for Dhs187 (€45) and are being released in English, French and for Seoul, Korean in May 2019
