Over the weekend, the third royal wedding in a year took place at Windsor Castle and whilst the setting was familiar, the traditions the same and even for some guests, there might’ve been a case of déjà vu, this wedding marked quite a low-key affair.
Lady Gabriella Windsor (the daughter of the Queen’s cousin, Prince Michael of Kent) married Thomas Kingston at Windsor Castle’s St. George’s Chapel and of course, following in the footsteps of both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, and Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank, there were dozens of royals in attendance.
Princess Anne, Prince Philip, Queen Elizabeth and Pippa Middleton (the Duchess of Cambridge’s sister and long-time friend of the groom) were all present for the occasion, as well as new dad Prince Harry.
Although Meghan Markle and their bundle of joy Archie, weren’t in attendance (the new royal baby was born just over ten days ago), the Duke of Sussex wasn’t alone as he accompanied Peep Show actress Sophie Winkleman, who is married to Lady Gabriella’s brother, Lord Frederick Windsor.
For the wedding, the bride wore a custom-made Luisa Beccaria bridal gown, which featured a fitted bodice, a voluminous back with a long train and beautifully-crafted Valencienne lace that was layered with ribbons of flowers and buds.
In keeping with royal tradition, Lady Gabriella also added a tiara to compliment her look. She opted for a gifted tiara, the Kent City of London Fringe Tiara that belonged to her grandmother, Princess Marina of Greece and Denmark in 1943.
Congratulations to the newlyweds!
