Van Cleef & Arpels launches Lady Arpels Zodiac Lumineux time pieces in the Middle East

Written in the stars
Van Cleef & Arpels has just announced the launch of its highly anticipated Lady Arpels Zodiac Lumineux timepieces. Here's why you need one...

In January, Van Cleef & Arpels debuted its newest novelties at SIHH. Among them, was the spectacular Lady Aprels Planétarium timepiece that was three years in the making. The incredible feat of watchmaking included features a navy blue dial punctuated with miniature replications of the sun (made from pink gold), mercury (made from pink Mother of Pearl), Venus (crafted from enamel) and Earth (represented by a turquoise stone). These pieces rotate around the watch face in line with reality — the Earth will take 365 to fully rotate around the dial, for example. At the same time, it also introduced a range of men’s watches, called Zodiac Lumineux which featured the 12 star signs on an exquisite enamel watch face that lit up. Now, the female versions of the watches have arrived.

Lady Arpels Zodiac Lumineux is the latest piece in the brand’s Poetry of Time collection. The collection was conceived out of the brand’s creativity, envisioning “the measurement of time as an invitation to imagine, wander and revel in happiness.” The collection is the ultimate display of the fine jewellery maison’s savoir-faire, utilising mechanical elements as well as electricity to create a dazzling finish.

The Lady Arpels Zodiac Lumineux is available in all 12 signs of the zodiac, each of which features either literal depictions or inspired interpretations of the image of the sign. The watch comes in a 38mm white gold case bezel set with diamonds and its dial is made from blue glitter enamel. Depending on your star sign, each zodiac variation is finished with different stones, be it yellow or blue sapphires or diamonds with translucent or opaque  enamel for added visual impact.

The alligator leather strap is fastened with a white gold pin buckle that is set with diamonds and the watch has a 40 hour power reserve and a self-winding mechanical movement with a “light on demand module” (i.e. the part of the zodiac stars that illuminate on the watch face at the push of a button) that was developed exclusively for Van Cleef & Arpels.
