It was back in the ’60s when Van Cleef & Arpels felt lucky and introduced the four-leaf clover-inspired Alhambra jewellery collection, and ever since, it has established itself as a timeless symbol of luck. Today, the collection continues to shine with several new additions – celebrating luck with timeless creations.
This season, the collection welcomes the addition of a long necklace, a bracelet, a pendant, a ring and a pair of earrings adorned with guilloché white gold – an honoured technique adopted by the Maison as early as 1910s. The guilloché initially embellished watch dials and extended to boxes, powder cases and Minaudières upon which stones mingled with precious metal.
For these new pieces, each motif features a beaded contour and a central bead in white gold – true to the original style of the Alhambra collection.
In addition, the Alhambra collection expands with a new token of luck: the Sweet Alhambra watch. Merging watchmaking savoir-faire and jewellery inspiration, the Maison created a timepiece that highlights the emblematic golden bead technique together with the Maison’s watchmaking expertise.
Incorporating the feminine spirit, the timepiece features a case made up of two beaded rows surrounding a white mother-of-pearl dial, and a fully articulated bracelet of golden beads that can be easily detached and changed with a grosgrain fabric or alligator leather bracelet.
The symbol continues to be an immediate success, establishing itself throughout the world as an icon of luck and emblem of Van Cleef & Arpels.
