Every year since 2016, Louis Vuitton has launched a silver Lockit bracelet in support of Unicef. In the two years since, the brand has raised over Dhs18.3 million for the charity.
Now, the latest iteration of the now iconic accessory comes courtesty of a collaboration with Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner. The star is a friend of the house, often spotted front row at its shows and wearing pieces from its newest collections on the red carpet.
Sophie reimagined the bracelet in a red and white chevron pattern with a silver charm that has an illustration of a rabbit on it, said to be inspired by the actress’ most recent body art. In a release, she described the rabbit as being “considered lucky in many parts of the world.”
Speaking further of the collaboration, she said, “The bracelet is supposed to hold luck for the people to whom the funds go to. It’s about bringing people together from all over the world because Unicef works worldwide and Louis Vuitton is all about travel.”
The collaboration marks World Children’s Day, which is celebrating 18 years of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. For each bracelet (which retails for Dhs 986) sold, around Dhs470 will go to Unicef.
The bracelet is now available to purchase online.
