Cinema has always played a big role in securing a pillar in Chopard’s archives. The Maison’s President and Artistic Director Caroline Scheufele – a keen lover of the film industry herself – has nurtured her passion for film into a haute couture jewellery collection worth taking the spotlight on the red carpet.
Presented on the occasion of the 75th Cannes Festival, the red carpet collection entitled Chopard Loves Cinema, is inspired by the legendary worlds and scenes of the film masterpieces that have made an impression on her life. Paying tribute to the craftsmanship and creativity of Chopard’s jewellers as well as the boundless inspirations from film, the red carpet collection comprises 75 haute joaillerie pieces featuring necklaces, earrings and bracelets fashioned from unique gemstones.
The generous collection includes a plethora of different creations including a majestic Fairmined certified diamond and ethical gold choker featuring an exceptional fancy vivid yellow diamond of more than 100 carats (worn by Julia Roberts), plenty of coloured stones such as Ceylon sapphires, and luxury timepieces that are transformed into works of art such as an entire bed of emeralds and diamonds set in a clever arrangement of flower corollas to make up a watch.
Further committing to its love for cinema, the collection features black and white diamonds (straight out of Charlie Chaplin’s black and white masterpieces), transformable jewellery displayed in a choker just waiting for metamorphosis, and flower power where sapphires, amethysts, rubellites and garnets of many colours come together to form a peace-inspired necklace.
