A plethora of brands are showcasing their latest novelties at Dubai Watch Week and Breitling revealed its highly anticipated Super AVI collection. As aviation is one of the brand’s core pillars, the new collection pays tribute to the industry’s history with designs inspired by the original 1953 “Co-Pilot” Ref. 765 AVI aviator’s watch.
Whilst you don’t need to be a pilot or an aviation enthusiast to truly appreciate the craftsmanship of the timepieces, you’ll come across the crucial expertise that went into creating the watches. Paying tribute to four exquisite planes – think the North American Aviation P-51 Mustang, the Vought F4U Corsair, the extremely rare de Havilland Mosquito and the Curtiss P-40 Warhawk – the collection “embodies that sense of nostalgia for the early days of aviation when pilots relied on their watches as onboard tools,” says Breitling CEO Georges Kern.
Speaking at Dubai Watch Week – where the collection was unveiled to over 80 guests including press, VIPs and watch enthusiasts – Kern said, “After the successful global launch of the Super AVI in Dallas, USA last week, we are thrilled that the Super AVI is making its Middle East debut at Dubai Watch Week, an event which we are very proud to be a part of. You don’t have to be a pilot or vintage-aircraft buff to appreciate the exceptional craftsmanship and rugged design [of the Super AVI collection].”
In addition to showcasing the new Super AVI collection, you’ll also come across the Top Time Classic Cars Capsule Collection, Super Chronomat and Premier Heritage models at Breitling’s booth.
