Audemars Piguet takes a bold step into the future while honoring its past with the launch of a new ceramic in “Bleu Nuit, Nuage 50”, a rich, deep blue hue inspired by the night skies of the Vallée de Joux and first introduced in the iconic 1972 Royal Oak. This shade, once reserved for dials, now envelopes three Royal Oak and Royal Oak Offshore models, marking a milestone in both aesthetics and materials innovation.
Years in the making, the process to perfect and apply this iconic color to ceramic required exceptional precision and craftsmanship. The material’s hardness and resistance make it ideal for modern luxury watches, though notoriously challenging to work with. Each watch undergoes meticulous hand-finishing, highlighting the sleek, faceted surfaces with alternating satin-brushed and polished textures.
Three new timepieces, ranging from a fully ceramic openworked Royal Oak to two distinct Offshore chronographs, showcase this stunning blue across different styles, blending state-of-the-art technology with traditional artistry. More than a color, “Bleu Nuit, Nuage 50” represents the heritage and vision of Audemars Piguet: rooted in the stars above the Vallée de Joux, and forever pushing the boundaries of fine watchmaking.
