Van Cleef & Arpels brought a touch of fairytale magic to Dubai Watch Week with the unveiling of its newest Extraordinary Object: the Brassée de Lavande automaton. Since 1906, the Maison has woven poetry into precious materials, and this latest creation feels like a page lifted from an enchanted storybook.
Shaped like a domed bouquet of lavender in lacquered rose gold, the automaton hides a secret at its heart. With a gentle activation, the lavender slowly unfurls, like petals stirred by a breeze, to reveal a delicately crafted butterfly that takes flight in a mesmerizing, swirling motion.
Nearby, two polished white gold snails perch on rose-gold branches, quietly keeping time. As the scene awakens, a soft melody begins to play, turning a functional object into a multisensory reverie.
The Brassée de Lavande is a tribute to craftsmanship. Van Cleef & Arpels continues to champion rare métiers, blending traditional techniques with innovative artistry.
