Valentino’s Pre-Fall 2019 show was a lesson in OTT holiday season dressing

And we're here for it
Valentino showed its Pre-Fall 2019 collection in Tokyo last night, and a handful of the looks have gone straight onto our holiday outfit inspo boards...

Valentino has long been known for its gorgeous eveningwear creations and Pierpaolo Piccioli delivered another series of swoon-worthy ensembles at last night’s Valentino TKY Pre-Fall show in Tokyo.

Models Kaia Gerber and Adut Akech stormed the runway in some delightfully fluffy creations, joined by an army of other models in red, black and white confections. With the holiday season fast approaching, we couldn’t help but be inspired for the party season ahead. After all, this was Pierpaolo’s newest lesson in OTT elegance that still somehow looked casual (which was perhaps the result of the beauty look: centre-parted soft waves with glowy skin and a flick of eyeliner).

In a release, the brand said, “The iconography of the Maison — the ruffles, the lace, the grace, and then the flowers, the colors, the motifs — is interpreted in a wabi sabi key. Volumes are purified, ruffles are crushed, pleats are misaligned. Black and red are splashed onto prints, the V logo marks allover.”

Indeed, the pieces were finished almost exclusively in the three aforementioned colours. See some of our favourites below…

Just imagine walking to grandma’s kitchen in any of the above…
