Roksanda
Blurring the boundaries of art, fashion and architecture, Serbian designer Roksanda Ilinčić, proved that it could actually be one with her latest Spring/Summer 2020 showcase. For her latest show, Roksanda took to the Serpentine Pavilion a colourful collection that focused on a popping palette, structural shapes and dreamy silhouettes.
Erdem
Royal-approved brand Erdem, took a bold approach for Spring/Summer 2020. Whilst renowned for its prim and proper elegance, the new seasonal collection proved rebellious and loud with a plethora of prints, a new level of romanticism and refined details. Will we be seeing the Duchess of Cambridge sport any of these looks soon? We hope so.
JW Anderson
Synonymous with minimalism, relaxed fittings and very wearable pieces, JW Anderson added a bit more glam to his Spring/Summer 2020 collection with metallics, exaggerated lapels and deconstructed tailoring.
Christopher Kane
There was an evident environmental theme that was subtly showcased at the Christopher Kane show overnight, and it’s perhaps in part due to the predominance of green floral prints, ocean-blue tie-dye graphics and a desert-hued line-up of stunning ensembles.
Burberry
And last, but certainly not least, Burberry gathered the ultimate front row to witness the reveal of Riccardo Tisci‘s third-ever collection for the heritage-rich fashion house. And it certainly did not disappoint. Set in West London, the new Spring/Summer 2020 collection (titled Evolution) was indeed, an evolution of Burberry’s history as a line-up of achingly cool ensembles celebrated the influence of the Victorian era and how it still resonates with the brand today.
At the time Burberry was founded, the Victorian Era was very much present and the new collection proves its inspiration of the past, yet how it’s still dedicated to the future. With a blend of innovative techniques and classic fabrications, the neutral-heavy collection carried elevated daywear, red carpet-ready pieces and fluid silhouettes fit for day-to-night.
The co-ed line-up saw a surfeit of details which included hand-sketched, painted and collaged animal prints, reinterpreted signature unisex bags, detachable and extendable hems, as well as stunning embroidery, achingly accessories and the introduction of new footwear styles, too.
And just when we thought that the collection proved our love for Burberry, the runway consisted of new (and diverse) faces including Somali model Ugbad Abdi, Gigi Hadid, Irina Shayk, Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid, who made her Burberry debut.
