Bahrain has always been a source of inspiration for Noon by Noor, the brainchild of Bahraini cousins Shaikha Noor Al Khalifa and Shaikha Haya Al Khalifa. Since the inception of their brand in 2008, they’ve garnered a loyal following in the GCC and in New York, as they’ve been a constant contender on the New York fashion calendar and now, are looking to build on Noon by Noor’s international presence.
Making their official debut at London Fashion week, Noon by Noor presented a collection for Spring 2022. Titled “Light”, the collection featured chic silhouettes, mixing structure with cuts and blurring masculine codes with femininity. Embroideries were present too, featuring the brand’s signature florals in colour, beautiful prints and seasonal staples.
“A photograph of Bahraini pearl divers in their sarongs gently gathered and tied at the waist, mixed with dreams of summer sunshine, holiday memories and flowers was the start of our spring collection development,” explains designer Shaikha Noor Al Khalifa. “We selected our fabrics, mixing different scales of checks from ginghams to madras, alongside bold stripes in lime-ivory, pink-ivory and grey-ivory.”
Speaking about the fabrics, Shaikha Haya Al Khalifa said: “Beautiful poplins, jersey, washed cotton, coated linens, silk voiles, organza, tulle and canvas all reflect the idea of light. Sometimes two or three of these fabrics are combined into one garment.”
