Dior are on top of all things digital right now. In a world moving increasingly to virtual reality, the luxury French fashion house is making strong strides towards an online revolution.
After launching an augmented reality experience via Facebook last year, now they’re tapping into Instagram. For anyone who follows Dior on Instagram can now unlock a virtual try-on experience for DiorSoLight sunglasses and headbands through their Stories. Named, ‘Kaleidoscope,’ the experience fills the camera frame with psychedelic effects similar to the analog tool that bears the same name.
So if you don’t fancy getting up and doing things IRL, you can try on this season’s square, oversiezed DiorSoLight sunglasses in nude or black or you can slip on double headbands marked ‘Christian Dior J’Adior’ from the comfort of…well, anywhere really. The bed sounds about right…
The accessories show up as motifs in an animated kaleidoscope background in a palette of soft and natural muted hues, so you can personalise and then share around.
The artisanal tie-dye florals are from Dior’s dance-inspired S/S’19 collection by Maria Grazia Chiuri which are now making an encore performance based on the avant-garde lighting effects favored by contemporary dance pioneer Loïe Fuller. Very cool all round…
The Dior Kaleidoscope filter is already available on Instagram.
Now, staying on the topic of cool, check out what Dubai’s creatives are getting involved with at the moment.
