The Missoni Group recently brought M Missoni back in-house and in doing so, they’ve hired a new Creative Director to take the brand forward.
In a release just sent to press, the house announced that Margherita Missoni will return to design for the house (she used design accessories for Missoni main line), taking the helm at M Missoni moving forward.
Of her appointment, Missoni President and Creative Director Angela Missoni said, “I am both proud and overjoyed to welcome Margherita back into the Missoni Group as the Creative Director of M Missoni. In her professional trajectory within and outside the company, Marghertita has demonstrated her considerable skills. Together with her natural understanding of style and her forward thinking creative capacities, she also proved to be an authentic and successful communicator of the house codes. I am confident that Margherita’s talents will make M Missoni a relevant brand for the years to come.”
Margherita added that she is excited for what lay ahead. “Being identified as the person who can lead the future course of the new M Missoni fills me with pride. It’s exciting to have the opportunity to set new paradigms and forge new directions for this brand, all whilst using the Missoni aesthetic which lives within me.”
Margherita has been hired as part of the company’s plans to expand M Missoni’s global reach and product offering. Her first collection for the label will be for S/S ’20.
