With all the chatter around size-inclusive lines of late, it was inevitable that brands would take notice. And Gywneth Paltrow‘s Goop is one such brand. The California-based lifestyle company has just announced the launch of a collaboration with Universal Standard, a fashion brand launched in 2015 to help combat the gap between straight and plus-size clothing.
According to Business of Fashion, the collaboration includes “a tuxedo jacket and trousers, a dress, a jumpsuit and a peacoat” in sizes 00 to 40. Speaking honestly of the collaboration, Paltrow said, “I want Goop to be a place where women who are feeling marginalised in any way can come and find content and product. This is an area where we haven’t been great and I believe inclusivity is really important.”
Alexandra Waldman, the CEO of Universal Standard told the site, “This is really about making [size inclusivity] the new normal through a variety of channels. The thing that should determine [your clothing] choices should be your taste and your budget. We don’t need any more barriers than that.”
The collection will launch online on Goop.com today, as well as in store in Los Angeles and New York.
