Back in March, Emilia Wickstead and Matchesfashion.com announced that they had collaborated on an exclusive capsule collection to be shown during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia (MBFWA). And overnight, the collection officially made its runway debut in front of international and local press at Sydney’s iconic Wylie’s Bath.
The 17-piece range includes a range of items needed for your next summer getaway including swimwear (full pieces and bikinis), dresses (mini, midi and maxi), shorts and tops, and was inspired by photographs taken of people on holiday on the Mediterranean coast in the ’60s and ’70s. It was fitting, then, that the collection was displayed on models as they walked in the Australian sunshine at Coogee Beach.
“This collection is my version of the ultimate vacation wardrobe; quintessential Emilia Wickstead silhouettes and nostalgic prints that present a fresh and modern take on holiday dressing, playing on ’60s and ’70s themes,” said Emilia of the collection. Natalie Kingham, the Fashion and Buying Director of Matchesfashion.com added, “We are thrilled to collaborate with Emilia on her first vacation wear collection exclusive to Matchesfashion.com. The collection highlights Emilia’s passion for vintage inspired silhouettes and floral designs. It is the perfect collection for a summer getaway.”
