CFDA Fashion Awards 2020: Here are all of the winners

This might just be the most diverse group of recipients yet...

Earlier this year, the CFDA was set to take place on June 8th but unfortunately had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak. However, overnight, the Fashion Awards took place virtually, marking the first-ever live ceremony of the awards.

The winners were determined by the CFDA Awards Guild (comprised of CFDA members, leading fashion journalists, stylists, and top retail executives) and the list of recipients is the most diverse group of recipients in the 39-year history of the awards.

The full list of the 2020 recipients of the CFDA Fashion Awards are:

American Womenswear Designer of the Year: Gabriela Hearst

American Menswear Designer of the Year: Kerby Jean-Raymond for Pyer Moss

American Accessories Designer of the Year: Telfar Clemens for Telfar

American Emerging Designer of the Year: Christopher John Rogers

International Women’s Designer of the Year: Pierpaolo Piccioli for Valentino

International Men’s Designer of the Year: Kim Jones for Dior

Speaking on his latest achievement, Pierpaolo Piccioli said: “Far from the spotlight, the crowd, the toasts and the parties I accept this award with immense gratitude for the trust and benevolence of my colleagues and friends. The atypical condition of the ceremony underlines the essence of this achievement: everyday dedication and love for beauty, in all of its meanings. I interpret this award as a reminder, for all the amazing work that my team did, all the support that I’ve received by my family and for the huge opportunity that life gave to me, doing what I love as a job. I daydream sometimes of what I would or could do if I wasn’t a fashion designer in the end I am exactly where I want to be. So thank you CFDA and thank you Tom Ford for reminding me how lucky I am.”

Congratulations to all of the winners!
