Valentino is the first luxury brand to ban Alpaca wool

Valentino to discontinue garments made with alpaca by the end of 2021...

Just last month, PETA launched a campaign that resulted in Sephora confirming the ban of the mink eyelashes. Now, the animal rights organisation has conducted another investigation that reveals the mistreatment of animals in Peru.

Located in Mallkini is the world’s largest privately owned alpaca farm in Peru and after viewing PETA’s exposé, luxury fashion brand Valentino has announced that it will ditch the alpaca wool from its future fashion collections by the end of 2021. *Inserts clapping emoji*

“Shearing alpacas bloody and tormenting them for their wool will never be fashionable,” says PETA Senior Vice President Jason Baker. “PETA applauds Valentino and the other brands that have made the compassionate decision to drop alpaca wool and is calling on all other companies to join them.”
