Pierpaolo Piccioli has taken Valentino to another level since assuming the sole Creative Direction of the brand after Maria Grazia Chiuri’s exit. Having revamped the brand’s logo to capitalise on the world’s current obsession with all things streetwear-inspired and branded, the designer has also introduced new, more relaxed silhouettes into the brand’s offering that work perfectly alongside the stunning eveningwear it has long been know for.
For autumn/winter 2019, the brand collaborated with Moncler on a range of items for both men and women, which were revealed in January in Paris and New York respectively. The collaboration came as a surprise, given the differences in the brand’s offerings however the result was seriously cool. This was outerwear, done luxe.
Now, the down jackets — crafted in black, white and a vivid green tiger print and branded with the new VLTN logo — are ready to hit stores. In fact, they’ll land in the brand’s store in The Dubai Mall on August 27. The store is one of 65 worldwide to receive the exclusive collection.
