THE CHANEL CRUISE 2023/24 SHOW TOOK US TO SHENZEN, CHINA FOR A CHANGE.

Life in a black-and-white sports pitch.
Following the Los Angeles showcase in May, Virginie Viard's latest collection took the spotlight at the Shenzhen Bay Sports Centre, transforming the venue into a monochromatic sports arena.

Echoing the nostalgic vibes of the Paramount film studios’ inaugural show, a prominent scoreboard hung from the center stage, while an Inez & Vinoodh monochrome film showcased the fusion of Shenzhen’s skyline and Los Angeles’ palm trees, featuring CHANEL ambassador Alma Jodorowsky alongside models Nora Attal, Huijia Chen, Fanny François, Angelina Kendall, Mahany Pery, and Qun Ye. This cinematic experience seamlessly blended the allure of Hollywood’s golden era and the athleticism of aerobics. The collection itself dazzled with a kaleidoscope of vibrant and refined elements, each ensemble evoking a different facet of the brand’s exuberant universe. From sportswear and roller-skating motifs to the glamour reminiscent of 1920s and 30s film stars, the runway showcased a spectrum of embroidered swimsuits, rhinestone mini shorts, 1960s-inspired suits, relaxed bathrobes, and pajamas, complemented by wrap jackets and evening gowns, harmonized with 1930s footwear and disco platform sandals.
