Stella McCartney is not just creating a collection, she’s creating a movement that invites everyone to be part of the change. Inspired by the activist slogan “Change the History,” the brand’s Summer 2023 shoot features Madelyn Cline, a rising star and animal lover, posing alongside the residents of The Gentle Barn animal sanctuary. The shoot aims to call on the next generation of changemakers to make a difference in the world by raising their voices for our fellow creatures and Mother Earth. The collection itself is a reflection of Stella McCartney’s mantra: “We are what we eat, we are what we wear.” By removing animal products from the equation, the brand is upending the entire food and fashion industrial complex. The Summer 2023 collection is free from leather, feathers, fur, and exotic skins, and crafted using 91% responsible materials. Its pieces blend the nostalgic with the iconic, featuring strong silhouettes that redefine different eras of the Stella DNA.

One standout piece is the world’s first-ever luxury garment made from regenerative cotton, sourced from the brand’s SOKTAS project in Turkey. Regenerative agriculture supports biodiversity, improves soil health, and helps fight climate change, making this a truly groundbreaking addition to the collection. With over 600,000 vegans in the UK alone, the fashion industry must consider its impact on the environment and animal welfare. Stella McCartney’s Summer 2023 campaign serves as a call-to-action for everyone to make better choices, from stopping eating meat to ending the needless deaths of animals for fashion.
