Pierpaolo Piccioli showcased his Resort ’19 collection for Valentino in New York

Take a closer look...
Even though the show took place overseas, Pierpaolo Piccioli's new collection for Valentino paid homage to Italy...

We’re currently in the midst of trans-seasonal runway shows and whilst many fashion houses opted to showcase their new collections in France, Prada and Valentino decided on New York.

Prada took over multiple screens in Times Square earlier this month and over the weekend, Valentino chose The Institute of Fine Arts, NYU as the location du jour for its Resort ’19 show.

Combining New York’s street style grunge with Italy’s chic fashion and luxurious lifestyle, Pierpaolo Piccioli paid tribute to Rome with a collection that saw a mixture of Jackie O inspirations and archival pieces made modern.

The Resort ’19 collection featured denim, outerwear, romantic gowns, shirtdresses and tracksuits, complete in colourful prints, rich fabrics with plenty of logos and the must-have accessories of the season.
