As fashion brands across the world are currently reinventing their current practices due to the global health crisis, there’s been a limit to working with models, photographers and production experts, and the closure ateliers doesn’t help either.
To produce Valentino’s Resort ’21 collection, Pierpaolo Piccioli took matters into his own hands and shot the campaign himself, located on the seaside of his hometown of Nettuno.
The brand’s Creative Director has always mastered the art of shape and for Resort ’21, the collection is powerfully punched with prints, colours and abstract silhouettes.
Using the campaign as a way to personally narrate his vision for the maison, Piccioli tapped Roman top model, Mariacarla Boscono and Luca el Bali — muse and friends of the maison — to front the summer-appropriate separates.
The Resort ’21 campaign introduces a unique way of storytelling, and not only did Piccioli brilliantly show clothes in the new normal of the COVID-19 era but accessories too, and he surely did not disappoint.
The spotlight fell on the Valentino Garavani accessories complete with flowers, bows, studs in leather or straw, adorned on Atelier Bags, as well as on the Atelier Shoes. Hats were also developed in collaboration with Borsalino.
The collection has officially made its debut in the Middle East and is available exclusively at Valentino boutiques in The Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates.
