In December, Gucci released an achingly cool campaign that was (quite literally) out of this world, courtesy of a renowned artist’s creative works, and it highlighted Alessandro Michele‘s signature maximalism aesthetic through the highlighted Spring/Summer ’18 collection.
Now, the highly accredited Creative Director (who obviously took the number one spot for the top designer with most engaged followers on Instagram in 2017) is taking a more hallucinating approach for his next limited edition collection.
Following on from last season, Michele has traded those iconic memes and prints for a more digital direction for the new collection. Once again, the designer tapped Spanish artist Ignasi Monreal to launch a limited edition selection of sweatshirts and T-shirts.
Titled #GucciHallucination, the capsule collection features nine styles of sweatshirts and T-shirts, and have been labelled by a number ranging from 1-200 to mark the lineup of delivery to customers (they can expect a special packaging featuring the artist’s work).
Monreal has had a strong connection with the maison following his collaboration on the Gucci Gram project and the Gift Giving book.
