The fashion industry is embracing size-inclusivity more than ever with a slew of brands jumping on board to offer an increased size range that caters for women who fall outside of the traditional fashion sizing spectrum.
Earlier this week, Gwyneth Paltrow‘s lifestyle brand Goop announced that it is launching a size-inclusive range with Universal Standard, and now, another Hollywood actress is teaming up with a celebrity stylist/costume designer to launch an inclusive fashion label.
Amy Schumer and Leesa Evans will champion women’s empowerment by releasing a collection of ready-to-wear pieces (which will include tops, pants, skirts and outerwear) for women of all sizes and age under the brand name Le Cloud.
And that’s not all. The brand’s 0-20 size offering includes a charity aspect to it with 30 per cent of proceeds to be donated to not-for-profit organisation, Community Partners. It supports the Stylefund project (which was also founded by Schumer and Evans) and aims to empower women from different backgrounds through the use of clothing and fashion.
According to Hollywood Reporter, Schumer explained that “a Le Cloud customer will feel confident and powerful when wearing these pieces. We take our product seriously, but not ourselves. My instinct is to be authentic and to empower women of all ages and sizes to do the same. We are making beautiful, comfortable and wearable clothing that is accessible to real women.”
Amy Schumer’s Le Cloud fashion label will launch on December 13, 2018, and will be exclusively available online and in-store at Saks in New York City and in Los Angeles.
