The Kooples is known for its ultra-cool pieces and rock and roll influence, so it makes sense that then that the French brand has named musician Zayn Malik as its first ever menswear muse.
According to WWD, the brand that the singer’s “rock-‘n’-roll and bold attitude…personifies the streetwear and urban style of the men’s wear line.”
Malik will make his first appearance for the brand in its Fall 2018 ads. Additionally, he will also lend his hand to co-design an accessories line.
Speaking to WWD about the appointment, Nicolas Dreyfus, the Co-Founder and CEO of The Kooples, explained, “We not only choose a face for the season, but also a codesigner with a strong personality, a genuine fashion legitimacy and a strong social presence. For Fall 2018, we have chosen Zayn Malik, who perfectly embodies our style renewal toward more streetwear, oversized cuts and redesigned proportions. He has a rebellious, tough attitude with a casual yet always elegant sense of style. Zayn is sexy, creative and charismatic and was deeply involved throughout the design and creation process.”
The former One Direction singer will be joined by Victoria’s Secret models Stella Maxwell and Irina Shayk who will front the womenswear collection. Both will also design three handbags for the brand that work for day to night.
