Today marks the first day of womenswear shows at New York Fashion Week but before we see Middle Eastern designers (Noon by Noor), newcomers (Alice McCall) and some of the leading names in the industry present their latest collections, there’s one menswear show that caught our eye overnight.
Known for staging super cool runway shows for his eponymous label, Raf Simons‘ new season collection featured a plethora of references to the 1981 German film Christiane F.
While the runway was stylishly decorated with lush floral bouquets, fruits, vegetables, slices of bread, cheeses and cakes (a true feast!), a layered collection of oversized silhouettes, baggy trousers, deconstructed knitwear and tailored suits made its way down the runway.
