Back in January, Givenchy‘s Artistic Director Clare Waight Keller returned to Paris with a 17-look presentation for menswear.
Now, off the back of its success, Keller is going to stage her first stand-alone men’s show as the special guest at the Pitti Uomo trade show on June 12 in Florence. The fun part about Pitti Uomo, is that it doesn’t have the same parameters as Paris Fashion Week, so there’s more room for pushing the boundaries.
According to WWD, Keller said, “January was almost like the first chapter in the book. It was sort of setting up my framework of what I want to do. Pitti is the opportunity to take that step into a much broader collection, and that’s a big opportunity for me to really express what I want to do, and also just my more rounded vision of what I want for the Givenchy man.”
And from what we know, Keller is going to strike a balance between tailoring and sportswear for the June collection, saying, “It’s not only about pure casual wear and I think the way to explore that, and the style and attitude behind that, are really what I’m going to put into my June collection.”
As usual, we’ll be on the frontlines waiting to see what unfolds in Florence…
Now, this one’s for the men: head to Bloomingdales – Dubai this week for an immersive style experience.
