If there are two people that embody the spirit of Chanel, it’s none other than, well Gabrielle Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld. Iconic figures in fashion, they both have an indescribable allure and over the years, only a handful of women have been a part of their star power.
When the late (and great) Lagerfeld held the reigns at Chanel, women including Vanessa Paradis, Kate Moss, Claudia Schiffer and Cara Delevingne have been muses to his creative vision. Before his passing in 2019, men — especially Pharrell Williams — have become an instant muse and the American artist even launched a new collection with the maison.
Now with Virginie Viard in creative control, the female head continued previous relationships with Chanel’s muses and tapped five ultimate celebrities to front its new Spring/Summer ’20 eyewear campaign: singer Angèle, actresses Isabelle Adjani and Margaret Qualley, and musicians Sébastien Tellier and Pharrell Williams.
This marks the first time men have been photographed for the eyewear campaign.

Full of character, the campaign features new styles of sunglasses that highlight the originality of five muses. The Insta-worthy sunnies include grey faux pearl necklaces, fine metal plaques and engraving to evoke woven tweed.
The Spring/Summer ’20 eyewear collection will be available from March 2020.
