Fresh from a new post on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Instagram account, it’s been announced that Prince Harry is going to make a documentary series with TV host legend, Oprah Winfrey.
The Duke has long been a supportor of mental health awareness, having participated himself in a very candid interview with journalist Bryony Gordon for her podcast Mad World – giving rise to more open conversations about our problems.
And today, it was announced (below) that Prince Harry is going to co-create and executive produce a new series for Apple on mental health to provide a global platform for more insightful and considered talk on the subject.
After last month’s big reveal on the launch of Apple TV +, it was confirmed that big names, like Winfrey, would be creating brand new, original content – case and point right here!
A comment from Prince Harry was included in the Instagram post, “I truly believe that good mental health – mental fitness – is the key to powerful leadership, productive communities and a purpose-driven self. It is a huge responsibility to get this right as we bring you the facts, the science and the awareness of a subject that is so relevant during these times. Our hope is that this series will be positive, enlightening and inclusive – sharing global stories of unparalleled human spirit fighting back from the darkest places, and the opportunity for us to understand ourselves and those around us better. I am incredibly proud to be working alongside Oprah on this vital series.”
So, the series is expected to land in 2020. And combining Prince Harry’s advocacy and genuine passion for mental health with Winfrey’s extensive TV know-how, this is going to be a series worth waiting for.
