Meghan Markle appears at her first official engagement with the Queen

To celebrate Commonwealth Day
Today, the entire British royal family appeared together in London to celebrate Commonwealth Day and there's a reason it's important...

Westminster Abbey played host to the official Commonwealth Day celebrations in the UK today with all senior members of the royal family in attendance.

The outing was particularly significant for Meghan Markle, as it marked her first official appearance alongside Queen Elizabeth. Although the former Suits star attended the Christmas Day church service, her appearance at today’s ceremony was the first official engagement she appeared alongside the monarch at.

Meghan was joined by her fiancé Prince Harry, as well as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and the fab four all adopted a navy theme for the outing. Meghan wore a navy Amanda Wakeley dress, as well as a white coat from the brand, a hat by Stephen Jones, heels by Manolo Blahnik and carried a navy Mulberry clutch for the occasion. A glowing Kate, who is due to give birth to her third child next month, wore a navy coat by Beulah and a hat by Lock and Co.

The ceremony was also attended by former One Direction member Liam Payne as well as British Prime Minister Theresa May and various other government representatives.

Meghan’s inclusion in the event is significant given that she is not yet an official member of the royal family for whom attendance at these events has traditionally been reserved. However there’s less than two months to go until she marries Prince Harry and it seems the family is keen to capitalise on the immense public support for the pair.
