Prince William might miss the birth of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s first baby

But it's for a very important reason
There is a huge possibility that Prince William won't be present for the birth of his niece or nephew...

After the mass mosque attacks in New Zealand earlier this month, Prince Wiliam is heading to Christchurch to honour the victims.

In place of the Queen, the Duke of Cambridge is set to go out in late April. He will meet those affected by the attacks, which left 50 people dead. According to Kensington Palace, William will also “pay tribute to the extraordinary compassion and solidarity” displayed by New Zealanders in recent weeks. When the 2011 earthquake happened in Christchurch, Prince William visited the country then, too.

But the timing of this trip might overlap with something else…

We know already that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s first baby is due in April – and although we don’t know the date exactly, predictions suggest it could be mid-late April. But that could mean that Prince William will be absent for the birth of his niece or nephew – the couple have chosen to not find out the baby’s gender.

Of course, in spite of the momentous occasion of the Baby Sussex arriving, the Duke’s trip is understandable considering the gravity of the New Zealand attacks. In fact, both sets of couples issued out a joint statement condemning the violent attack, “No person should ever have to fear attending a sacred place of worship.”

Whatever happens, we’re sure Prince William will make up for it as the best Uncle he is about to become…
