OMG, could we become the next Natalie Portman, courtesy of Natalie Portman herself? Well, could just happen.
Because Portman, the star of Black Swan (for which she won an Oscar), is about to share her acting prowess with budding actors who want tips and tricks from the creme de la creme of the industry.
The veteran actress who has been in a string of leading roles in: Jackie, Closer, V for Vendetta (remember when she went bald for the role?) and Thor, has partnered up with online-education providers MasterClass to share her “joyful experience” of acting.
The course available through MasterClass, for Dhs415, involves Portman sharing her tricks of the trade she’s gained since she started out in the industry at the age of 10. She courses through how to build a character map, nail a dialect and how to successfully work with directors.
In a statement Portman said, “Acting is a joyful experience. It’s the act of empathy and play. You should be free to be creative, try new things and make mistakes. That is how I learned. In this class, I’m excited to share what I’ve pieced together over 25 years as an actress – things that have worked for me, things that I’ve seen work well for others, and tips I created to help myself.”
You may as well start prepping your Oscar speeches from now, tbh. But before you get the shampoo bottle out (your makeshift Oscar) watch the trailer here…
