Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are keeping the details of Archie’s godparents private

Well, there's your answer. Sort of...
We've been asking ourselves who Archie's godparents would be over and over again but today, we finally know the answer...

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are known for doing things a little differently and the power couple don’t adhere to the rules every now and then.

Remember when Meghan Markle shut her own car door at her first solo royal outing (in a Givenchy dress, no less)? Whilst it really isn’t very newsworthy to us mere mortals, it was all the Internet was talking about. The couple also decided to move out of Kensington Palace and into Frogmore Cottage, launched their very own Instagram handle, didn’t announce the arrival of their baby straight away, and you sort of get the point.

And with that being said, we knew that news surrounding the Duke and Duchess’ first child, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, would remain private. So, when questions flooded the news headlines as to who Archie’s godparents were going to be, we were wrongfully waiting for some sort of announcement but (sorry to be the bearer of bad news), the royal couple will be keeping details of the godparents private.

On the contrary, it seems like the new parents have decided to thrill us with some exciting news this weekend.

Buckingham Palace has confirmed that baby Archie is set to have his christening on July 6 — which means, we’ll be seeing some new images of the two-month-old.

In an official statement, Buckingham Palace confirmed: “Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor will be christened in a small private ceremony by the Archbishop of Canterbury in the Private Chapel at Windsor Castle on Saturday, July 6th. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex look forward to sharing some images taken on the day by photographer Chris Allerton. The godparents, in keeping with their wishes, will remain private.”

Oh well. We’re marking our calendars for Saturday. Make sure to stay tuned…
