Last year, Forbes revealed that Kylie Jenner was on her way to becoming the world’s youngest self-made billionaire and now, she has officially clinched the title from Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg. The list was revealed overnight and additionally confirmed that Jenner is also the youngest billionaire to have ever made the list. Zuckerberg was 23 when he took the title, versus Jenner’s 21 years of age.
The fortune comes courtesy of her eponymous beauty brand Kylie Cosmetics which began with lip kits and has since expanded to include highlighters, bronzers, eyeshadow palettes and more.
Speaking of the honour, Jenner told the magazine, “I didn’t expect anything. I did not foresee the future. But [the recognition] feels really good. That’s a pat on the back. It’s the power of social media. I had such a strong reach before I was able to start anything. I see Kylie Cosmetics going very far. I work really hard.”
The title makes Kylie the unofficial queen of beauty, beating out Anastasia Soare of Anastasia Beverly Hills, Huda Kattan and half-sister Kim Kardashian West in net worth and estimated revenue.
Jenner is joined on the billionaires list by Amazon Founder Jeff Bezos (who took out the number one spot), Bill Gates (number two) and LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault (number four). Now that’s some pretty good company to hold as a 21-year-old…
