Over 500,000 visitors...
The 'Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams' exhibition is one of the most sought after cultural excursions right now and this number proves it...

Earlier this month, the ‘Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams‘ exhibition officially ended and whilst originally, it was going to run only until July, the extra two months proved that it was one of the most successful cultural excursions.

Held at London’s V&A museum, the exhibition — based on the 2017 show, Christian Dior: Couturier du Rêve — garnered a staggering 594,994 visitors during its opening, marking it the most-visited exhibition in V&A history. Previously, the titled was held by 2015’s ‘Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty’ exhibition with just over 100,000 attendees.

The exhibition was home to over 200 rare Haute Couture garments are being shown alongside accessories, fashion photography, film, perfume, make-up, illustrations, magazines and the designer’s personal possessions. One of the exhibition’s highlights is Princess Margaret’s Christian Dior Couture dress she wore for her 21st birthday portraits.

It was pretty evident from the start that the ‘Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams’ exhibition was going to be a hit after the entire run of tickets sold out in just three weeks. Hence, why the V&A extended it to run until September 1, 2019.

In case you weren’t able to fly over to London during the summer, there’s another Dubai designer-focused exhibition taking place in the United States next month.
