Earlier this year, celebrities wore black gowns on the Golden Globes red carpet as a sign of solidarity to the Time’s Up initiative launched just weeks earlier. The dress code was to support the program which aims to help women fight harassment in the workplace.
Now, it has been revealed that stars at this year’s Grammy Awards will wear white roses in support of the cause, as well as the music industry’s own initiative called Voices in Entertainment.
Roc Nation Senior Vice President and Head of Rhythmic Promotion at Interscope Karen Rait founded the new initiative and stars including Rita Ora, Rihanna and Kelly Clarkson are reportedly on board.
Speaking to Billboard, Rait said, “Music artists have a lot of impact… So it’s only fitting that music’s biggest night show the support for equality and safety in the workplace and that people need to be cognisant of their fellow employees.”
With under 24 hours to go until the ceremony, we can’t wait to see how the stars wear their roses.
