‘AIR’, A TESTAMENT TO BEN AFLECK’S DIRECTIORIAL SKILLS.

WRITTEN BY: LARY BS.

Ever since his directorial debut ‘Gone Baby Gone’ in 2007, Ben Affleck showed he was not playing around as a filmmaker. His feature films have definitely grown bigger, also helped with bigger budgets, as has his cinematic vision. While ‘Air’ as a story does probably not boast the most surprising narrative, given its known historical background, the film really comes alive due to its impeccable take on 80’s production design, its visual storytelling, and solid performances, especially Viola Davis’ stellar role as Michael Jordan’s mother, already garnering early buzz for next year’s Academy Awards. It’s a film that could’ve been just fine in the hands of some other directors, but Affleck’s choices make it a slam dunk for the story it is trying to tell.

‘Air’ is currently playing in theatres.
